State-of-the-art LEED Gold Certified academic building.
Colliers Project Leaders provided project management and commissioning services for the Social Sciences Hall which consisted of the development of a new 75,055 square foot state-of-the-art academic classroom/office building. The building provides space for classrooms, faculty, and staff office space as well as other indirect support spaces (workrooms, storage, etc.). In addition, this project received LEED Gold Certification.
During the design phase, Colliers Project Leaders served as the owner’s project manager/construction administrator working closely with the Connecticut State University System, Central Connecticut State University and the Design Team. Our responsibilities during the design phase included: project meeting participation, development of master schedules, construction logistics recommendations, action item agendas, construction document review reports, constructability reviews and reporting, field operation analysis, development, analysis and review of construction cost estimates, value engineering/cost reduction alternatives, materials and systems reviews, bid format and general conditions recommendations, and participation in pre-bid conferences and bid opening.
During the construction phase, we administered the State's Contract for Construction with the Construction Manager. Our responsibilities included: reviewing, monitoring and approving construction schedules and the schedule of values, reviewing and making recommendations regarding requisitions for partial payments, establishing and conducting project meetings, and taking construction photographs.
In addition, we have provided project management and commissioning services for the Gallaudet Residence Hall, the Hilltop Café, and Willard & DiLoreto Halls.
