Creating inspirational spaces.

The North Bennet Street School engaged Colliers Project Leaders to provide owner’s project management (OPM) services in connection with the complete renovation of and additions to two historically significant buildings located at 150 North Street and 130 Richmond Street in Boston’s North End neighborhood adjacent to the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The adjacent buildings were renovated to become academic and artisan workshop space for the school. A 2-story addition was added to the historic Boston Police Station #1.

We oversaw the permitting & approvals process for the project, which underwent Large Project Review by the BRA and achieved approval in just 34 days. Numerous variances from the Boston Zoning Board of Appeal were required and the project was performed as a Certified Historic Rehabilitation in accordance with National Park Service standards, ultimately qualifying for over $3 million of federal and state historic tax credits.

The project began construction in January 2013 and was completed in September 2013 in time for start of the academic school year. Total development cost was approximately $20 million.
